The Kissing Frog Series

"You will kiss many frogs before you find your Prince"...

                                                -Said by everyone to me after a break up...LOL

This nontraditional fairy tale series is also a real tale that metaphorically summarizes what it's been like for me in my world of dating. A lot of my work has been centered around my love life, which has always been the best inspiration for me. This "Kissing Frogs Series" focuses on our willingness to love and be loved and what we're willing to do to find our Prince.

When dawning upon this earlier era of my life, I found myself feeling unusually down around Valentine's day, which is not normal for me. I was single, I was 19 years old, and was feeling irritated by how the dating scene had become, especially with the roll outs of online dating apps (which were becoming more popular at the time). I sat down a drew a few sketches, and the one I liked the most was my modern take on the "Princess and the Frog". I made the story my own.

The final piece didn't become a painting until about 5 years later. This was never intended to be a series, however things kept happening in the years that followed, and other pieces surrounding the theme were born. Since this series evolves over time in regards to how my love life changes, I decided to wait to do the last piece (the happily ever after piece) one day when I have found my Prince.
