About
WHO & WHAT IS PGVRT?
My name is Pasquale Giovanni, and I am a self taught traditional oil painter, and digital media artist. I reside in GA, inside the United States where I work out of my home studio.
Creativity runs deeply through my family, whereas artistic expression was always embraced and fully praised. Ironically, the earliest memories of my creativity were of my sister and I in diapers—being reprimanded (by our mother) for drawing on the walls. Now as an adult, I can’t think of a better medium than plaster board (sheet rock) to paint with, which is now my only preferred medium I work with.
"Dripping Horse" reimagined by Pasquale Giovanni (done for my grandmother in 2016 on her birthday, as she has a love for horses).
During my high school career, I was challenged to use mixed media, but found myself always going back to oil painting when pursuing personal projects.
In terms of digital art media, I took to the creative process of filming, editing, and publishing my art through high quality time lapsed videos; which can be viewed on my YouTube channel. I’ve found the core value of the time and creative process is often overlooked, as an artist—hence why I’ve crafted my videos to better showcase the art of story telling; and bridge the gap between time spent on every piece. I strive to give my viewers, art collectors, friends, and family a rather timeless “cinematic experience” that encompasses the artwork itself… a cinematic experience that can be relived over and over again.

MY COMPOSITION STYLE:
Being a biracial individual of African American and Italian descent, while residing in the south, has influenced my art in many ways. The majority of my human subjects in any work of art I’ve composed are intentionally painted in black and white monochrome to give my subjects a racially ambiguous appearance. This is due to my desire to be inclusive—and to bring all sorts of people together.
The full scope of my portfolio engages with themes of love, heart break, sexuality, mystery, rebirth, intuition, and dark fable/fantasies. I hope to help others heal in knowing they aren’t alone, through art inspired by my life experiences.
People have often ask me why I use an inverted "A" in my logo across social media platforms. The "V" or inverted "A" was alternatively used for ages in literature, and has been even been seen in ancient cave writings. Although the character has many different meanings, I found that it also represents a mathematical symbol that denotes "for all" or "for everyone".

PRODUCT AND PAYMENT:
Currently I do not accept commissioned portraits, however, I do sell my original pieces. Most pieces seen on my YouTube channel are available for sale, however the best way to know for sure is to view my website where (if available) it should be listed.
If you find an original is no longer available, I do offer limited edition canvas prints as well as other merch and apparel that features my designs.
If you prefer to communicate with me directly about a purchase or to book a collector call, contact me via Instagram for a more prompt response.
