Original "One Hot Dawg" Painting by Pasquale Giovanni

This piece showcases a more erotic and playful aspect within my portfolio. Originally, this piece started from an idea to create a short film that would later on dive into the time lapse process of the painting. This piece marked a turning point in my style regarding preferences of medium, video editing, and taking bolder risks.

At this point in my career (which was more of a hobby at the time) I discovered how much I truly love making what I call “cinematic time lapse” videos, that gives the viewer an independent film feel—but yet encompasses the process with more cinematic elements than usual. That video can be viewed in it’s entirety on my YouTube channel, I have provided a link to the full length video as well as some smaller clips from the original short film. 

This composition may just be the only stretched canvas piece I’ve done, as I now only use plaster board (sheet rock) to do any pieces. ”One Hot Dawg” was also the birth of a new series entitled “The Red Series”, however this particular piece is not a volume or version to be included with the other pieces in the red series.

This piece hung on my wall for decorative and sentimental purposes, but I would love for it to spice up someone else’s home. Of all work I’ve held for myself, this was in fact the most popular and most talked about piece. It will surely start many fun conversations when you have company over!
