"Serpentarius", also known as Ophiucus, is a constellation surrounding astrology. Today, this constellation isn't acknowledged as an astrological sign among all the 12 others. This is because the introduction of this sign would offset the seasonal arrangement of all the other star signs.
Ophiucus is typically depicted by a man wrestling a python or serpent of some kind. Other times you'll see a nude representation of a man, perhaps with tattered clothing, embracing the python instead. This is a modern composition on the star sign itself using mixed media. Here you'll notice a familiar style of space painting, that's been used for decades, layered underneath traditional style oil painting for other elements in the composition.
